Dont FEED me this junk

how do I start this review of the book FEED??? I dont know what to tell people about this book. It has won awards and many people regard it as a valuable book, but i fail to see anything at all. Reading the back of the book my sound intersting, a story of kids in the future rebelling against evil corporations that have taken over everything. Something just didnt cut it for me. It may have been the lingo that they supposedly use in the future, it may have been the writing style, or it may have been that the plot of the story just kinda missed the point. The book didnt really build towards anything except the death of a significant character, but there was never any revolution or great rebellion that eliminated the feed. Which was what i was sort of expecting to happen. I dont know how else to explain this book other than, a complete let down. I wouldnt give this book to any of my friends and tell them to read it.. lets just put it that way.

killing us with distorted interpretation

This women is being ridiculous. She is simply going through the millions and millions of ads that have ever made and making interpretations in the most negative way possible. She claims that this only happens to women, but she shows examples of men almost completely naked also. How is that any different? A women wearing practically nothing is an object in her eyes but if it happens to a man it is completely different because she claims he is made to look strong and independent. And why do all the men in the ads have six packs.. A majority of men in the U.S. today dont have six packs, and she goes on to complain about how all the female models make up a body type rarely found in the u.s. All im saying is that this women is streching to make a connections, and the connections and interpretations she makes are drastically flawed. It shouldnt be an issue that advertising uses attractive people.. If anything that makes sense because no consumer is going to go out and buy a product endourced by quaz the hunchback. This women who thinks she has figured out advertising and its plan to ruin girls and ladies of all ages is insane. This women also claims that these ads advocate violence towards women. This also is insane people are smart enough to realize that because something happens in a magazine it isnt ok in real life. Not to mention that the U.S. where a majority of these ads are from most likely has one of the lower rates of women abuse and rape in the world. Her biggest flaw perhaps is that she goes on and on complaing about this ad and this ad and she proposes no way to fix it. She has no soloution to the problem becasue she complains about every type of ad that a women is in. Maybe the only solution to the problem is to take women out of ads completely.. but that wont work because this women will make a killing us softly 4 where she complains about how people are outcasting women from society because the arent allowed in ads anymore. The women who made this documentary will keep bitching about ads and making these impossible connections because she is making money off of people buying her stupid lectures.

persepolis and catcher in the rye in the same boat..

hmm.. where to start, alright the fact that the book is a comic auto whatever is somewhat interesting and a nice change of pace. i for the most part enjoy the illustrations except for when i cant tell who is supposed to be who in a given picture. as far as the story itself, uhh i dont feel like it has very classic style plot, where there is rising action climax and falling, or the whole harry potter/lord of the rings story line. It simply seems like a book of the random events in her life that shape who she is, and i think that this book is very comparable to Catch in the rye.. And thats just how i feel

holden and the whore

alright this scene made me upset for several reasons. and i am going to list them off
1. He ordered a girl to his room and chickened out but was still willing to pay
2. He agreed to $5 for a throw and ended up having to pay $10
3. When Maurice was standing over Holden, he didnt shut up and he kept running his mouth and got punched.

I feel like Holden not being able to hold his tongue even when the odds are stacked against him. The first time this happened holden was on the ground then got punched out by stradlater because he didnt know when to stop. The second time maurice punched holden out because holden didnt know when to stop. I wouldnt be surrprised if in the end of the book holden keeps running his mouth to the wrong person/people and gets hurt even worse

profes. eval.

ok so we have read the first half of the book.. and still i cant put my finger on holden.. or dpat for that matter, but whos counting. anyways i cant tell if holden is a normal teenage guy who is just a bit of a rebel. or a teenage guy with a chemical imbalance in his head. I am constantly going back and forth with my evaluation of him and i just dont know what to think. Holden can act extremely normal and then he will just flip a switch and turn into a extremely depressed and cynical kid full of hate and anger. idk he is a tough person to predict and i just cant tell yet if i like him or not.
